The History of the Club and how Football started and the winners……………
The 70’s-the beginning
1969-1970 Port Noarlunga and Seaford Residents Association was formed to establish a community centre and somewhere for families to go.Founder members’ families went door knockingto sell a brick. They held cake stalls, a fete along Cliff Avenue, and even an outside concert on the tennis courts to raise funds. By door knocking they met more people who got involved and became members of the Association and eventually long time Club members.A competition was held to name the Reserve and Karingal Reserve was chosen—this is an Aboriginal word meaning “Happy Hut”.The First soccer was played by the Port Noarlunga schoolboys and then some of the parents started playing as well. At first the guys played against each other but enough interest was generated that they started to also form teams where they worked to play .Teams like Chrysler, Griffin Press, Kelvinator and Postel. In 1974 the first part of the Club was built with a small bar with a hutch for selling drinks. The change rooms were in the same place as the cold room is today. Members raised all the money for the development. In 1976 the Club was in the Amateur League and the first team played in gold/black or similar to Wolves colours, this was a strip they got because someone else cancelled the order! The Reserves played in red and black. The teams played along side Jane Street, this is why the toilet block was built there. The first Amateur coaches at the Club were George Ainscow and John Moores. In 1979 the First team won the 4th Division Championship and the coach was W. Birkett.
